Frequently Asked Questions

Which banks are supported?

We currently support AIB, Bank of Ireland (BOI), and Revolut CSV formats, with more banks on the way. Each bank exports CSV statements in a slightly different format — our processor normalises them automatically. For direct Open Banking connection, TenantSync supports all major Irish banks.

How does the rent detection work?

Our algorithm analyses transaction descriptions, amounts, and patterns (such as regular monthly amounts) to assess the likelihood that each transaction is a rent payment. Transactions are classified as "Likely Rent", "Review Required", or "Not Rent".

Is my bank statement stored or shared?

No — your CSV file is processed in real time and immediately discarded after the preview is generated. We do not store, log, or retain any of your bank statement data. The tool is a stateless, non-persistent preview.

How do I export a CSV from AIB?

Log in to AIB Internet Banking, navigate to your account, click "Export" or "Download transactions", and select CSV format. The date range you choose will be the data we analyse.

How do I export a CSV from Bank of Ireland?

Log in to 365 Online, go to your account, select "Download Transactions" and choose CSV format. Select your preferred date range before downloading.

How do I export a CSV from Revolut?

Open the Revolut app, tap your account, tap "Statement", select the date range, and choose CSV. You can also export from the Revolut web app under Account → Statement.

Can I use this as official financial evidence?

No — this is an indicative preview only for your own reference. It is not audited, verified, or legally binding. Always consult a financial or legal professional if you need certified rent transaction records.
